Buying rifle questions

Recommended Posts

So I have a rifle in mind and seems like all small firearm places can't get their hands in it, remington 700 sps in 270 wsm, the only place I can find carrying these rifles are bass pro and cabelas. My question is how long will it take for me to get the gun after paying? I live in Sierra Vista and certainly don't want to stay in Phoenix for 3 days ( that's what I have heard or read in the past) waiting to pick up the rifle, I couldn't find a place in Tucson that has this rifle for 580 bucks or less, not even sportsman warehouse, any advice on making the purchase process faster or anyone know of a gun shop that has this rifle? Thanks.

How long it will take depends on a few factors. Assuming its in stock.

Are you a CCW holder? You will walk out as soon as you pay after filling out 4473.

No CCW and no issues when FBI checks you out? You will walk out with it after the payment.

If you have a problem with the FBI check, but it isn't really you, then you may have a wait, could be a day to three. After 3 the shop can release it without approval.

FBI says no go then never.

Best way to get a gun purchase done without issue is that CCW.

Could you call Cabelas and have them order it in? Then pick it up when it arrives?

Only way I know that you can buy and then walk out with it is to have your CCW permit. Since you are on file already you get to leave with your new gun. Although I did not think there was a 3 day wait on rifles, thought it was only handguns. Call BP and ask them what their process/policy is and make sure they have the rifle before you make the trip.

Call bear mountain sports. They'll get it all ready for you all you do is show up, fill out the paperwork and pick up the gun. Never takes me more than 15 min either. They got that gun in stock and gives you a lifetime warranty in addition to the manufacturer warranty.

Buying a gun online is like buying a fishing pole from Amazon. Only difference is instead of shipping to your home, you need to have it shipped to an FFL so you can complete the 4473 form before you take possession. It's easy.
