Questions about a bow case & flying

I'm heading to Illinois on the first and have a few questions about traveling with my bow.

 

1 need advice on a good bow case that I can fly with.

 

2 do I mail out the bow early or fly with it on the airlines?

 

3 anything else I should be aware of before I head to the deer stand.

 

I will be doing this hunt each year so I have no problem spending some money on a better case.

I bought the rifle case equivalent to this case from the same guy on eBay. Great deal and great seller. Got case in 3 days. I would guess the bow case is just as nice.

I don't ship my bow, I just fly with it. I pay to check it like any other piece of luggage. I have never had a problem yet

I use the Badlands Terraglide. It has a reinforced bottom for your bow and an upper compartment for clothes and gear. I've flown using this luggage to Africa, New Zealand, and Illinois! I saw them at Cabelas last time I was there.

I use the plano Bone Collector Case when I fly back to NY. It's strong and durable- but It's HUGE!!! doesn't fit flat in the back of my SUV.
