willhunt4coues Report post Posted October 14, 2013 I have for sale a 6.8 spc Remington 700 police rifle. It has about 100 rounds through the barrel and the barrel has a shallow flute. This is the gun only no scope no base. Has an HS precision stock. I have 1 box SST 120 grain and 3 boxes of 115 grain federal fusion to include. This rifle is a great tack driver and is good for varmints and or a good youth starter gun. Thanks, GUN IS NOT FOR SALE ANYMORE

Nitemann Report post Posted October 14, 2013 Barrel length??
willhunt4coues Report post Posted October 14, 2013 I believe it is 24". I can measure this evening if you need me too. I get about 2650 fps when the box of 120sst states 2460 but thats out of a 16 inch barrel. I called Remington about the twist rate and they told me its a 1:9 twist. This gun does not like light bullets. 115 grain + is what she likes and I can get sub MOAs at 100 yards with 115 or 120. Being that it is a 270 cal bullet you can even get 130 or 140 grain but I would not go higher if you are reloading and you would probably have even better groups. I have shot this gun out to 600 yards and hit 8 out of 10 rounds. On game I don't know what you can do. If you had the right combo I would say 800 max but realistically speaking 600 is where I would stop.

willhunt4coues Report post Posted October 14, 2013 That would make a great kids rifle. Wish I had a little extra cash! That is what I bought it for. My son was shooting this gun at 6 years old and my daughter at 4 years old. HAS NO RECOIL. I wanted to start him on this and move him up to a .308. I am wanting to sell this and get him a .308 with a muzzle break to reduce felt recoil.
