Weird month thus far

Recommended Posts

Been a bit more bickering on this website since I joined 10 years ago, must be the fed shutdown making everyone cranky, just remember we are all blessed to have this website and to be able to hunt even if we are hunting rabbits or OTC deer or even going outside to hang trail cams

If you follow or play sports you are familiar with the saying that a team takes on the personality of its leader. Well our "leader" is a spiteful, bitter person who has spent the last 5 plus years finger pointing, name calling, race baiting and trying to divide the country with his my way or the hiway mandates. It's not just people that frequent this website that are cranky and frustrated.

It's the economy, the government, the media, pop culture and the destruction of the traditional American culture, and most of all- the one single thing that is making everyone miserable... Miley Cyrus.

I would rather get shot in the face with a Rage Broadhead.

It's not only here, but all over our daily routines. My job has me interacting with hundreds of people daily and for the most part, people are friendly and cordial, just trying to live their lives without being bothered.

But with that said, there is a noticeable change in people. They seem more " on edge" or rude. Very short fuses with little patience. Condescension and rudeness has multiplied 10x.

What's causing this? IMHO....Technology.

Posting their problems on Facebook to get attention, nasty posts on Twitter, ridiculous internet arguments hiding behind an ISP. Kids walking home from school, head buried in their phones and ear buds in, without saying a word to each other. Families out to dinner with mom, dad and kids all texting their respective contacts with nary a word on how their day went. Cell phones with us 24/7/365. (Yes I'm guilty of this). Technology has changed our social skills. And its showing up in everyday life.

Yes, I see the irony of my post using the WWW. And yes, I understand how it's helped us.

But, we're quickly losing our God given gift of human interaction, slowly becoming savages.

Anyways, just my observations from the field! :)

Forlorn hope.... You sit are spot on! Most all of us are guilty of this. My wife always complains about me being on my phone, it's my form of Internet and in the evenings I'm on this site and looking at hunting stuff. Never during dinner or gatherings though. I suppose a good idea would be to turn off the technology during family time. Hard to do but if it causes a good change for family and social views, I'm for it
