Some questions on Vortex Diamondback 12x50

Recommended Posts

Does anybody have a pair of the Diamondback 12x50's? I have a pair of of the 10x42's and love em! I'm in the process of making a trade for a pair of 12x50's. I'm wanting to get them so my younger brother has better glass to use on his tripod when we head out. What would be the value on a used but good condition pair? Any help & input is appreciated!

My first "real" set of binoculars were the Diamonback 10x50s and they were great for the money. I have since upgraded to Viper HD 15x50 and then again to the Kaibab 15x56. There is a vast improvement at every upgrade step along the way.

PM sent regarding value.

Hopefully I don't get strung up for saying this. I believe there are really good mid and low mid price glass out there. Vortex I feel is right up there at the top. But I believe once you go over ten power the glass had better be top quality. As when things start getting magnified that much, everything including the imperfections in the glass. Therefore I believe affecting edge to edge clarity, light gathering ability, and above all eye fatigue. Just be careful, it is just my belief that if ya go with more power, you should also go with higher quality. Good luck!

Take care, Willie
