AZHUNTER05 Report post Posted October 8, 2013 />I know this is off topic a bit but is the limit still in effect for quail? Only migratory birds from my understanding.
dieselroe Report post Posted October 8, 2013 /> Then what are the max rounds you can carry in a 223 on a javelina hunt? As many as your drum will hold Wow, I was unaware that the limits had been lifted. Anyone know when this happened?
Couzer Report post Posted October 8, 2013 No, quail is not a migratory bird. No limit
Scooter Report post Posted October 8, 2013 It went into effect in august of 2012. No idea when it was actually signed by the Governor.

If you need more than two or three rounds of .223 to take out a Javelina... you probably need to get a little closer- they're practically blind for heaven's sakes! PRDATR Report post Posted October 9, 2013 My first Javelina was shot at about 30 yards with a TC in 223 sporting a 14" barrel. He was about 30#'s and the impact knocked him down like he was hit by a bus. Surprised the heck out of me.

Whitesheep Report post Posted October 14, 2013 You know what we say for doves, "a box a bird." As bad as that is "30 rounds a pig" is a little much!
willhunt4coues Report post Posted October 15, 2013 if you have a bolt action it never mattered. You could have had a 10 round or 30 round because it is bolt action only the semi autos is what mattered when it came to magazines but of course now we can go with as many rounds as you want.
