ready2hunt Report post Posted October 7, 2013 ummmm not sure if i know what you mean ready2hunt? are you saying that unit you have to have a horse in order to hunt there?? The matazels are a wilderness area....no vehicular access. So you either need a buddy to help or a horse. However if it is closed then I guess it doesn't matter either way. Good luck to you. kingbeer Report post Posted October 7, 2013 Foot attack bear is dead, speecial forces hunter pool took him out. I hunted 22north for bear but only saw a hiker and a white tail. what part of 22 north were you in? i was looking just northwest of payson and southwest of pine? but like i said this is my first hunt and if i get something then great and if not then i am good too. just will chalk it up to try a different area. i know that 3a & 3b are good (from what i hear) but that is a heck of a drive from surprise.
