ready2hunt Report post Posted October 6, 2013 If you are shooting rolling hills etc then the average bipods will do you fine. If you are shooting canyons or extreme angles then your larger bipods will do you good. I personally have found that shooting sticks are more versatile and weigh less & add stability to a hike versus a large bipod. Admittedly, I have taken my bipod off main rifle due to the weight and lack of use. I have only used my (homemade shooting sticks) once. I rarely take long shots just because of the area I hunt. Good luck to you.
rclouse79 Report post Posted October 6, 2013 I think mine is the Harris 9-12. If you get stuck in a spot where you need some more elevation buy the triclawps to mount on top of your tripod. I prefer a prone position with a bi-pod, but have had success with a standing shot off of the triclawps on my tripod out to 300 yards.

azslim Report post Posted October 7, 2013 I like the 3 segmented Harris with tilt, believe it goes up to 25" which is high enough for a sitting shot over tall grass or kneeling for shorter people
