New hunting license structure

/>It seems like we are in a strange transition period now. As I understand it, you have to buy your 2014 licences now in order to even apply for the 2014 hunts. You are still under the old pricing structure, but your license is no longer valid for all of 2014 - just up until the point you bought it in 2013. I like the old "calendar year" system better.

If you buy it now, it is still valid till dec 31, 2014. It's valid from January 1 till the end if the year.

is this in writing somewhere? If I buy now for spring hunts. It actually starts on jan 1? Not the date of purchase, say.. Today, until next year this date?

Says it right on my new license, the dates it's valid for. Jan 1- dec 31, 2014. Since the new structure doesn't start till Jan 1, 2014, the license you buy now cannot be valid until Jan. 1, 2014. So it is good starting from jan 1. So my license I buy now to apply for the spring hunts in 2014, I will also be able to apply for the spring hunts for 2015 since it is valid till dec 31, 2014. I will just have to have a new 2015 license when the spring hunts begin in jan , 2015. Hope this makes sense.

So they changed the rule about having a license valid for the hunts you are putting in for? I didn't see that in the new regulations. This is why you always had to buy your next years license before putting in for spring hunts.

Like stickflicker Said in an earlier post, it will greatly benefit nonresidents. If they time it right they can use one license to put in for elk for two separate years. Instead of them having to purchase a license every year to apply for elk they will only have to do it every other year. Will be quite the loss of revenue from non res for the g and f.
