TOBY Report post Posted October 2, 2013 This one is my 2nd archery bull ever(spike 2002). Not sure of score but I would not let him walk by if I ever get drawn again. Any guesses? We rookie scored it at 315 but no idea if we did it right. Don't really care he is big and going on the wall. Big is what you make it. I wished to break 300 but by day 4 I was ready to tag whatever crossed my path. I guess its all it's all in the eye of the beholder.Money or rez roid bulls do nothing for me no matter how big they are. Back to the question at hand I say 340 or bigger.

presnative Report post Posted October 2, 2013 My OPINION is like the definition of trophy. It is in the eye of the beholder. As we know B&C system sometimes doesn't account for uniqueness or character or mass in areas not part of scoring system. No doubt any bull 350 or better are awesome! My hopes and prayers is for a bull well over the 400" inch mark. I am a meat hunter and take the first good shot I'm offered so... it will take God's grace to make my dream come true. Meanwhile I am thankful for each opportunity to be in creation taking ALL of it in. This state is the Best! Don't tell anyone. LOL
AZbowhntr Report post Posted October 2, 2013 To me a 325 bull is a nice bull, a 350 bull is great and 375 and up his huge. Simple as that.

dieselroe Report post Posted October 2, 2013 400 is a big bull to everybody. So 400. Its everyone's dream. Why not just shoot for it. All elk have big racks, that's why everyone wants to hunt them. Its the biggest bone in the US. No staggs here. Anyways. I want a 400 bull, but there isn't a ton of them.
elkslare Report post Posted October 2, 2013 We hunted 5bn as well hunted the whole season and scouted 2 weeks before the season every day. The biggest bulls we seen were 360ish and 370ish. The 360ish bull was pretty cool with 30 inch 3rds going almost to the tops of his fourths. But his back end was a little week nice bull though. Talk to one other pearson that was chasing a 375 7x8 bull for sevarl days but never conected. Fun hunt though
joe hunter Report post Posted October 2, 2013 380 to 400+ is a BIG bull... but it all depends on how my bow hunt is going. If it's been a hard hunt and only a day or two left a 300 + is a big bull. A nice clean 6 point 300+ bull with just a day or two left in the hunt will get a 340 Easton Axis arrow launched at him everytime.
singleshot Report post Posted October 2, 2013 Score doesn't always tell the story for me. Mass only counts in the main beam for score. A 330 type bull with heavy mass throughout his entire rack is a nice looking animal. I have a 353 bull with a 29 inch spread and great tine length, but for me I love the mass and have seen lower scoring, heavy tined bulls that I like better.

120carp Report post Posted October 2, 2013 anything bigger than 340 looks big. I had a 370 bull at 35 yards and that thing is a monster.
ready2hunt Report post Posted October 2, 2013 I would love a 400 bull but like elkhunter1 said...anything bigger than the last is a trophy for me. I love to tag out...to each his own but for me...if I see antlers....it's getting my attention and probably my arrow/bullet. I love antlers and meat and will take both, maybe later on in life I will be more picky but as for now. I enjoy it all.
