ivhunter Report post Posted September 30, 2013 Hello guys, Hope Monday went as smooth as possible... I'm wondering you guys can point me in the right direction in finding my buddy a scope for his .300 Winchester? He is joining me on his first muley hunt down here in s.cali chocolate mountains "D12" area and the only other rifle he has is a 45-70, so i'm guessing the .300 is better.. he was told that he needs a good scope because the recoil will take the rifle out of sight if he gets a lower end scope, is that about right? any info would help.. thanks RICK
Hornhunter247 Report post Posted September 30, 2013 Don't go but a $49 scope from Walmart and he'll be fine! I do think shopping for a scope from a trusted company is the way to go, but no need to spend $1000 if you don't need to. Any leupold or vortex scope will hold up well. Burris makes some nice scopes, and some of the bushnell mid range scopes are nice. Tons of options out there! Most scopes are pretty well shock proof from recoil, but don't drop it. Kaffer62 Report post Posted October 1, 2013 Leupold are nice. They have good eye relief for a heavy kicking round.
