Youth hunters and grades

Recommended Posts

Agreed, IF they would work.... My boy is a huntin' unit and quite frankly, hanging hunts over his head is the only reason he isn't failing the other classes too. He knows the drill, it's a matter of back bone on my part.. If I took electronics away, he would spend the whole afternoon shooting his bow and be A OK with it. I have my fingers crossed though, his lazy butt better pull it off.. (He normally does)

It could be worse....... He could be a democrat!! LOL

If he gets those grades improved and ends up going to a University (a.k.a. indoctrination camp) he'll become a democrat faster than you can say "stright A's"...

All depends on what degree you get, I can count the amount of liberals in the College of the Engineering on one hand, they are few and far in between. Use the University as a means to get a great job in the private sector and don't work for the government or academia.

Burning an elk tag sucks but like was suggested, you can always donate and I think that is a great use of a tag! Plus there is always archery deer season. Stick to your guns, if he pulls it off then great and if not, well he better get to it cause December isn't too far off!

Decided to drag this one back up after a week of pounding on Cole to get his grades up.

He has a couple of C's.......that needed to be B's

We took the keys away first and then hung his deer hunt in front of him as well.

No missing school if the grades didn't come up.

Just as the buzzer was going off he got his grades up so he bought him some time out of school to go hunting with us.

I sure am glad he got his crud together cause I wanted to miss school too..............

High school is not hard. Unless a kid has a serious learning disability, anyone with a pulse can pull at least a "C" average simply by showing up every day and turning in all assignments. Absent a learning disability, any grade less than that is the result of laziness and/or apathy; neither of which will serve a kid well after high school. I say stick to the guns and take away the privilege.

As for my kids, if we see a "B" of any sort on any report card, they're not going to like the consequences.
