pstrman Report post Posted September 30, 2013 Just got a couple cameras and plan on using them for the December hunt and into January. Was just wondering with the other seasons going on when is a good time to place them?
Shedhunteraz Report post Posted September 30, 2013 I tend to put out and pull cameras according to my hunts and ones around mine.
Elkhunter1 Report post Posted October 1, 2013 My cams are out from May until the end of January. I have more locations than I have cams for. I check them every two to three weeks.
ready2hunt Report post Posted October 1, 2013 It just depends on the area but if you are planning on putting them out in area that gets a lot of foot traffic them they have a high chance of getting stolen. Put my cameras out march-April depending on snow melt and pick them up before archery season begins. Seems to work for me. What unit are you looking at if you don't mind sharing? jim Report post Posted October 1, 2013 Unit 22 you might as well just hand them to somebody and walk away it will save you the frustration of going back and finding them gone. (LOL)
AZLance Report post Posted October 1, 2013 Avoid the Payson area... those people up there have sticky fingers! I won't even drive thru that town anymore.

ready2hunt Report post Posted October 1, 2013 Unit 22 Just know you are putting up cameras in one of the most heavily hunted areas in the state not only because of a healthy animal population but because it is just one of 2 ways to get up north. A lot of hunters, campers and hikers go all over that area. Camouflage/hide your cameras well or it'll will be another sad story on the website. That being said....it are some good animals out there. pstrman Report post Posted October 2, 2013 The only reason I picked 22 was this was a last decision to hunt deer this year and it was close to home. Next year I am not sure where we will go.
