archermatt Report post Posted September 30, 2013 My girlfriend and I have a rifle hunt in 20A at the end of this month. I have a few spots in mind but are no good after opening day. Was wondering if anyone had any tips? Not looking for a monster just want to fill her tag.
BuckFeverJr Report post Posted October 3, 2013 It has been a while since I hunted Deer in 20a but I have hunted Javelina a few times since. Try the area along the roads that go from Kirkland Junction to Skull Valley. Always seems to be a lot of Deer in there and on occasion I have seen a few larger bucks. I wouldn't call this a trophy unit by any means but there are some decent Deer in there. Closer to Skull Valley might be crowded or it may not. They have closed a lot of smaller dirt roads there so maybe no one wants to walk in? Worth a look if that is the area you are planning on going.

donniedent Report post Posted November 3, 2013 Hunt the Bradshaws and I know this sounds crazy but hunt the thicker south facing slopes. The bucks love to hang in the thick ironwood on the south faces. Up in the pines the tops of the hills are where the oak brush is and on most of the south faces thick ironwood mixed with juniper.
