shandyjt Report post Posted October 23, 2006 Hello, I have been scouting for the last 4 weekends and have found gobs of Doe roaming around and zero bucks. In a couple areas that I really like there are at least 5 Doe in a relatively small area. My question: Can I assume that with the deer activity in that area, a Buck just has to be there hiding?? What is typical? Do Bucks roam in the same areas as the Doe heards or do I need to venture a couple hills away? Thanks to any who can help with some info. coues7 Report post Posted October 23, 2006 I had the same thing happen to me......I kept going to a spot and only seeing does......this last time I was in there I ended up seeing some bucks.......they weren't quaility bucks so I'm not going back.....but 3 weeks in one spot and nothing but does and then finally some small bucks. Good question though. If you have a December tag I'd say keep an eye on the spot......if you have an October or November tag.....I'd say go elsewhere. azryan Report post Posted October 23, 2006 its getting to the point where the bucks will break off from there bachelor herds and start getting ready for the rut....the group of does you have been seeing might have a small buck or some spikes with them...the bigger bucks wont be with them...later on in december and january that spot might be a very good one. I would definetly hunt that spot during the rut though. Good luck
