Guest wdenike Report post Posted October 2, 2013 Quote By Me: and definitely not saying you don't have good work ethics. Thank you very much for your service!!! But I did say I was not pointing any finger at you. So if something upset you. You have allowed yourself to do so. Looking at your resume I am sure you have seen exactly what I was referring to. Government employees pretty much have to kill someone to lose their jobs. And even than they probably just quietly go away and retire. AZ8 Report post Posted October 2, 2013 Mr Smith, my post wasn't meant to denigrate government employees, my apologies if it came across that way. I know many hard working individuals within the government sector. This is a difficult time for all of us and I wish you all the best in your current employment. My post was through the eyes of a private sector employee and solely based on personal opinion.

DesertBull Report post Posted October 2, 2013 You cannot have an effective gov't that is $20 TRILLION in debt and asking for more. One day the countries we borrow from are going to say enough...we are not giving you anymore and you need to pay us back what you owe. Then see what happens. It will make the sequester seem like a windfall. We will be third world. There will be no gov't for all intense and purposes.
Snapshot Report post Posted October 2, 2013 This marks the 18th Government shutdown. Like clockwork, the country continued to function, the sun still rose in the East and the American people quickly forgot about it just a few days later. I feel for those of you that have been forced into unpaid status. However, there are 1,000's of jobs being eliminated everyday in the private sector. Jobs that will never come back. Middle aged adults unable to find a job because companies don't want to hire a 56 year worker. The private sector is shifting to part-time employment to counteract Obamacare. Although you may be furloughed, after these politicians finish kissing each other's a$$es, you will have a job to go back to in a few days. Unfortunately, many of your fellow Americans have no job to go back to. This current administration has shifted the market place in such a way, permanent unemployment is the new norm. With the weight of Obamacare smothering small private business, the outlook for future jobs is bleak. The fundamental belief that the Government is responsible for your success has failed since the dawn of time. Freedom is what makes a person. Without it, nothing else matters. It secures Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. I'm not a doomsday believer, but I have to say, if the current economic policies continue, the United States as we know it with be fundamentally changed forever. The next 5-10 years with be difficult for millions of hard working Americans. We've come to a crossroads: Secure our freedoms or succumb to the Federal Government to take care of us "womb to tomb" You are exactly right. I felt the sting of the economic meltdown 4 years ago. Being self employed in a construction related trade, work dried up almost overnight. My wife of 14 years abandoned ship, and headed for greener pastures. I was left in an emotionally dark place to deal with everything as I could. Case in point..... being over 50 years of age, it is not easy going back out into the general workforce. Especially being burned out on what I used to do for a living.Even though I have a tremendous work ethic, I am not as marketable, or desireable over the employment spectrum, and I will never make the money I did before. There are hundreds of thousand of guys out there that understand what shoes I am standing in. We all feel it everyday, Regardless of the what the numbnuts running this country may do to this once great nation. I still have my pride, dignity, and patriotic belief of the constitution, the American flag, and what this country was founded on. Nobody can ever take that away, and that is what motivates me to stand firm against the tyranny and oppression of our corrupt Government leadership.

Take care, Willie No the United States is becoming the laughing stock of the world. And both sides are to blame! I don't know if the Republicans strategy of defunding Obamacare will or would work, however the people being sent home or getting IOUs on there paycheck, aren't the fat the government needs to trim. You think Park Rangers, etc, or better yet, staff that man our federal prisons should take the same attitude and say shut it down, open the gates and let it all go just to see the shutdown? A shutdown people think will correct an issue that is far more complex. A lot of people on here use a broad brush to paint all federal employees as deserving of losing a job. I don't understand that way of thinking. You think we can function without a government? We need an efficient, effective government not one that runs our lives. Change it, but shutting it down isn't going to get rid of Obamacare. Maybe the Republicans will get a clue and spine next time and not sell us down the road, and we wouldn't all be in thins predicament to begin with. I'm a conservative that blame us conservatives for not doing enough to stop it, I expect the idiots(liberals)to be idiots.
mr.smith Report post Posted October 3, 2013 Maybe the Republicans will get a clue and spine next time and not sell us down the road, and we wouldn't all be in thins predicament to begin with. It was passed during a super majority. Dems controlled both the House and Senate. Not one Republican voted for it. I don't see how they could have opposed it more. Meanwhile, the campaigner in chief is still flying around the country giving talks to his flocks of sheeple.
BeardownAZ Report post Posted October 3, 2013 Yes that is true but putting weak candidates up for office we all knew wouldn't win is the GOPs fault. Justice Roberts was appointed by a Republican and look what that got us. So yes the Republican Party still has alot of itself to blame.
