COOSEFAN Report post Posted October 22, 2006 I'm curious how durable and dependable these trailers are. I have never seen one in person but heard they will hold a UTV such as my Rhino or Prowler on top of it. It is a problem when trying to haul a camp trailer up and also find a way to get the quads, Rhino etc. up as well. I have looked into camp trailers that have a deck on the front or back of it, but these are all too small for the Rhino. Will this trailer get the job done, how is the construction, interior room, quality of materials, etc. Thanks, JIM>
COUESAZ Report post Posted October 22, 2006 I have looked at them the last few times i have gone to sportsmans WH. If you are looking to haul your toys and have a place to sleep. theyt should work just great. They have some good add ons to make your camp as well. I thought about getteing one to haul as far as the truck would be taken and then hook it to the ATV and haul it in farther. Atleast it gets you off the ground and in a canvas tent. Why don't you go get one then tell us what you think.

I was just curious if anyone else has had experience with them. We don't have any other options except to buy an expensive toy hauler, which we already have and neither UTV fits in it because it has a low hanging rear bed! I like that idea about pulling it farther in with the UTV, that would be cool! I was at the Sportsmans on Dysart today and they told me they don't carry the trailers, but I heard they did and that they actually had them on display at the store? COUESAZ Report post Posted October 22, 2006 I think they just alow them to show them infront of the stores. Theyu are there evry day at the Mesa store. They have three of them out front. One with a honda on top and closed up and then one set up And another with all the add on on it. I am thinking they will only sleep two people unless there is more bed space than i see in them. That is the problem with the toy haulers that i have heard is they hit the lower drop down beds. Are the rangers as tall. I am wanting a ranger and i was going to be getting a toy hauler for it. I guess if i go with justy one drop down bed in the back it should work right. I do not need the double full beds to drop in the rear.
COOSEFAN Report post Posted October 22, 2006 We have a big toy hauler with only a single bed in the back, it is the manual style bed and that is the reason it won't fit. Travis's brother Craig has the same toy hauler with the electric operated bed and it fits snug against the ceiling and a Rhino/Ranger will fit fine. The manual raise/lower beds don't raise as high. I can't remember the height of the Ranger, I think it is comparable to the Rhino. One thing to watch out for is that the Ranger or Rhino will rock side to side in the trailer and the top of the roll cage will hit the cabinets! Craig's cabinet mounted stereo got destoyed by a Ranger rollcage! Definitely measure the clearance of the back bed on any trailer before you buy it, some people have just measured the door opening and regret it later! Best of luck, JIM>
TREESTANDMAN Report post Posted October 22, 2006 http://www.expeditionswest.com/equipment/a...mping_jack.html Coueswhitetail memeber TAM has owned a jumping jack trailer for several years now. During our New Mexico elk hunt I hauled it w/ my chevy s-10 several hundred miles and on some semi rough backroads w/ no problems whatsoever. I was very impressed w/ the clearance and stability. Very easy and fast to set up and suprisingly roomy and comforatable! I will be getting my own in a couple of weeks.
vegasjeep Report post Posted October 22, 2006 I have a brouchere I can scan in for anyone. These are displayed at our gun shows every month I have looked at them and seem to think they are a pretty nice trailer. They set up extremely easy, and I have seen one with a sideXside on one. Might get one fro my Rhino.
COUESAZ Report post Posted October 22, 2006 Hey Jim. could a guy build a roll cage that is a little shorter than the stock ones. Then just take it and powder coat it. I will need the seats in the back of my ranger and i will need the extended roll cage. so i may talk to the guy that builds the extention and have him build it as a solid cage and take the main cage down about four inches. I saw two of them while i was out riding yesterday and there seemed to be enough room to do this Mod.
COOSEFAN Report post Posted October 22, 2006 I thought to extend the roll cage, they built an entirely new one, I think just an extension might not be strong enough but I bet they could shorten it. JIM>
josh Report post Posted October 22, 2006 Does it help to take air out of the tires when getting the Rhino in the toy hauler? Just curious because I was thinking of getting one and was concerned for this exact reason.
COUESAZ Report post Posted October 23, 2006 Hey now you are thinking that would be cheeper than making a whole new cage and making it shorter. But if i amn adding the seats in the rear i have to have the cage replaced like Jim said. And in that case i will just have it made shorter to fit in a toy hauler. Letting the air out would give you about four to five mor inches of clearance. Plug your little compressor in and you are ready to ride.
COOSEFAN Report post Posted October 23, 2006 Does it help to take air out of the tires when getting the Rhino in the toy hauler? Just curious because I was thinking of getting one and was concerned for this exact reason. Letting the air out wouldn't have made enough difference in my case. I do know that most electric raise/lower beds on toy haulers have enough clearance for the Rhino and Ranger, not sure about the Prowler, it is the tallest of the three by more than 5 inches. I think most toy haulers have the electric beds, we went with the manual style for the dependability reasons, but wish we went with the electric bed! TAM Report post Posted October 23, 2006 I own one of the first JJ trailers ever built. In fact it was one of there protypes and test models. My brother used to work for them fabricating the steel, welding, and assembling the trailers. He had a lot of say in how they were built, and he doesn't build junk. About 4 years ago he hooked me up with one of the owners of the company and I was able to buy one of the originals. Before I bought the trailer it had been on numerous hunting trips throughout Utah and Idaho. It had seen a lot of wear and tear when I bought it, and since then I have gotten a lot of use out of it. I've taken it all over Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah. It has never let me down. It's not as pretty as it once was, but it tows nice and straight (even full loaded at 90 mph), and it keeps me warm and dry. It's real easy to set up and take down. The owners of the company are real straight forward honest guys. I'd recomend these trailers to anyone! If you have any questions just ask.
COOSEFAN Report post Posted October 23, 2006 Awesome TAM! Thats what I was hoping to hear! I hate setting up wall tents and hate even more to tear em' down! We have a couple camp trailers, but cannot take the Rhino or Prowler when you take the camp trailer, so your stuck with the wall tents if you take the UTV's. It'll be awesome to have something easier to set up and still have the Rhino there! Can't wait to try em' out! THanks for the info, JIM>
COUESAZ Report post Posted October 23, 2006 do they make one with tandem axcels. That would be real great. You would be able to haul more weight on it.
