yotebuster Report post Posted September 21, 2013 He already did. Long story short, someone sawed the head off the bull and took it. This guy found a headless bull that he says is his and "he can prove it" and called the game warden to harass my buddy during his hunt about taking the bull. The bull that we even went so far as to try to find the owner of on this site. Not being satisfied with calling the warden on my friend, he then harassed them himself the next night about it. Good grief. Kind of a shame that when you go out of your way to try to help someone get a lost bull back you get this kind of crap.
bowhunter37 Report post Posted September 22, 2013 yotebuster I did kind of get on your friend a bit just because I didn't know who to believe. I mean who the heck takes another mans kill? so I was reacting out of anger I had been actively looking for that bull for 4 days and was extremely angry at the son of a bitch who stole it. but since that day I have gotten to know brad and have apologized to him. I just really hope the person who took that bull reads these posts and returns it to me. your friends were very helpful and my door is open to them anytime in phoenix. azoutlaw Report post Posted September 22, 2013 If you make a bad shot and can't find your animal then someone else finds it days later is it really yours?? Isn't part of bowhunting making a shot and recovering an animal? Never got that. Would you still hang it on your wall and be proud of it?

Isn't part of bowhunting making a shot and recovering an animal? Never got that. Would you still hang it on your wall and be proud of it? are you saying if you make a bad shot, look for 4 days and find it, is it yours? Or are you saying if someone else shoots it and Joe Schmo finds it 4 days later and claims it? I'd be proud to hang a trophy on my wall that I shot and found 4 days later. I'd be sick as heck if I lost the meat, most would be.
6ANut Report post Posted September 22, 2013 Do you even care about the real trophy that was wasted, seems like all you want is the horns and they don't taste good.
azoutlaw Report post Posted September 22, 2013 I'm saying if you shoot and lose an animal. Then someone finds it and post on Internet "found dead bull in x unit". This isn't directed towards this thread just a thought.
muledeerarea33? Report post Posted September 22, 2013 The real trophy is the hunt itself, second is the freezer full of meat, third is the tasteless antlers. As stated earlier, If I made a bad shot and stuck with it for days on end I'd be proud to hang the antlers. If I had a tag and found a huge bull that had been shot and was rotten I wouldn't even think of cutting the head off and sticking a tag on it! That ain't hunting. 654321 Report post Posted September 22, 2013 Here's a thought I'm sure everyone will love. If you shoot an animal and can't recover it before the meat spoils and you still want the rack or skull you pay the G&F what the cost of a wanton waste of meat ticket would be. bowhunter37 Report post Posted September 22, 2013 to reply to some of the posts above.. I am not trophy hunter and would be just as upset if the bull was a 4x4 and feel I owe it to the sport and the animal to track it down until I find it. I was taught at a young age by my father that whatever you kill you eat so yes the fact that the meat was spoiled kills me. and yes I would dam proud to hang that animal on my wall you were not there to experience the events that led up to the shot during it and after. The right and legal thing to do when you find a downed animal like that iS to turn it into the G&F so they can find the rightful owner if they don't they will sign over the animal to you. who and the heck would be proud to hang that on there wall if you found it? are you gonna tell all your buddy's you shot it I guess it would be the same type of person who would take it in the first place.
