creed_az_88 Report post Posted October 19, 2006 Is all this rain down south gonna make for a good hunt? I think so. I think this is gonna be the year for some monster bucks. Is all this water gonna make the deer harder to find? easier to pattern? allow them to move less? what doyou guys think? creed

Is all this water gonna make the deer harder to find? easier to pattern? allow them to move less? what doyou guys think? creed Make for a good hunt... no. Them little buggers will be able to stand up and move in that tall grass and NEVER get seen. Make for quality animals... yes. If ya can find them. With grass/weeds up over your waist a coues can lay down and never ever be seen. I don't care how much you paid for them 15X56's. Unless they came with a weed whacker it will be tough. I personally think it's going to be a very successful year for hunters. Lost of little coues will be taken but I don't think there will be more mature bucks taken. Good cover and water everywhere means they won't move an inch after opening day. I hope one moves just enough for me to spot it though. cmc
azcouesandelk Report post Posted October 19, 2006 I am seeing alot more bigger bucks than last year. The undergrowth this year is thick and tall. Some places it will be difficult to glass but there should be some monsters hitting the ground this year.
Noel Arnold Report post Posted October 19, 2006 I went scouting last week for the first time. I am a 43 year native of Arizona and I have never seen grass so high.It made for hard walking in the rocky areas.Last weekend was not the best weather conditions due to a little rain and wind . I did not see any buck's that were shooters for me.I do not know if it was due to the weather or feed conditions. I think it was more weather. At least I hope. Redman Report post Posted October 20, 2006 Luckily the lows are getting down enough so when one is walking in the dark the snakes should not be able to move, now in the middle of the day, the snakes should be able to move, but at least we can see them.
