creed_az_88 Report post Posted September 12, 2013 I'm hoping somebody can tell me what kind of caterpillar this is? I should have taken more pictures but I was packing my deer out when I saw him. Will he turn into a butterfly? He doesn't look as cool in a picture as he did in real life.

creed_az_88 Report post Posted September 13, 2013 I've actually already posted the story and pictures of my buck in the bow hunting section and I believe all three of you guys replied to it. Thanks by the way. I've seen plenty of weird caterplillars but this one really caught my eye. It looked like it had a bunch of miniature trees growing on his back. My cell camera really didn't pick up the definition on each spine.

ready2hunt Report post Posted September 14, 2013 It is an Io moth. it is a silk moth. No touchie, they're poisonous. Are you serious?? I had (3) crawling on me one time during an archery hunt. I had gear on so they never touched my skin and I knocked them off when I saw them.
