What kind of powder material are you guys using in your squeeze bottles??? To detect wind direction and thermals.

Both work equally well? And does that mule get to follow hounds very often?

This is the one I like the most. The powder is purple and much easier to see on a calm day. I have had the same one for about 5 years. It's even gone through the wash several times and the powder is still nice and fluffy. The powder seems to float better on some of the the others I have used. You can pick it up at sportsmans. For a few bucks extra I think the purple color is worth it.

Be careful with that stuff! One year in elk camp, one of my buddies was having problems with dry eyes. At 3:45AM when the alarm rang, he rolled over and grabbed the saline to wet his eyes...one of the others in camp set his wind direction powder in the same area and the first guy filled his eye with it. Still gives me a chuckle to think about all these years later.

I use the store bought ones. But baking soda would probably work... I've used it to deodorize the truck before

+1 on smoke in a bottle. I've tried a couple others and this one is easier to see and less mess and clumping. Seems to float better...

Seems like you could take some of the colored sidewalk chalk that the kids use and crush it up and make whatever color you want. That may work pretty good too.
