Who has an Alaskan Guide Creations Bino Pack?

Recommended Posts

I have had mine for about 5 years now and I love it. I have sold probably 10 to friends now just by showing them and letting them check it out. My one and only complaint about it was the fact that you have to wear a strap around your neck if you want your binocular secure and not able to fall when you take them out. After looking at some of the other options I decided I could make my own straps to secure them to the pack.

I took my old Cabela's bino harness and cut about 10-12" of each side of the harness off with the clips on the end. I then took it to my sister in law and had her sew the harness straps to the front strap of the AGC bino pack. Now I can take my bino out of the case and if I don't want to put them away right then I can just let them hang. When I put them on the tripod I can quickly undo the clips and put them on the tripod same for cleaning them. I am sure there is other ways to attach and other materials you could use besides the cabela's harness. I am thinking of a way I can attach the strap to the inside of the pouch so the straps are hidden and out of the way.

I will get pics posted shortly.

Nice modification. I have the same problem and use a piece of parachute cord around my neck to catch the binos from falling if I don' close the top.

Yeah I used that for about a year and it really bugged me. Seems it would always snag my neck hair and one of the points of the thing is so you don't have extra weight on your neck.

I haven't had that problem with this. As you can see by looking at the pic I posted the piece that goes in the middle of your back stays where you put it once you adjust the strap down tight. I have sprinted with this thing on and it has virtually no bounce and doesn't slide out of position.

I love mine. Only complaint I have is if ya only have a T shirt with no collar. It does tend to eat at your neck a little. But like I said good far out weighs bad, nice quality!!

Take care, Willie

Jarhead,

Do you have any other close up pictures of your bino pack? Maybe one with flap open and binos inside. Thanks

Me and my sons and most of their friends have these packs and love them. Jaret has done some modifications since your's was made Jarhead, they don't creep up your neck at all, but they still don't connect the binocs to the pack straps. That doesn't bother me but I haven't tried it the other way either. Jaret is always looking for feedback on his packs.
