id_danman Report post Posted September 8, 2013 I just had a muzzle brake installed on my 300 Weatherby so I'd thought I'd share the info in case anyone is looking for one. I purchased a "V-port vaporizer" (mine is the tapered model) from straight shot gunsmithing (http://www.straightshotgunsmithing.com/page14) and I am quite impressed with the performance. I like the side-only port design and it was one of the few of this type that could be tapered or turned down to fit a normal sporter-type barrel. My rifle is a vanguard back country (a fairly light rifle) and it used to scramble my noggin pretty good. I wasn't able to follow the impact of my shots because of the muzzle rise and now it feels like I'm shooting a .243. Virtually no muzzle rise and the recoil is nothing. If I knew how to post a video, you could see for yourselves. Cost is about $100 and any good gunsmith should be able install it for you for $100-$150. I haven't had the chance to see how this has affected the accuracy but I will be making a trip to the range very soon.

GWHunter Report post Posted October 15, 2013 To add another option, I just had an ACC Blackout put on my Savage 116, 7mm MAG. Really nice. To gauge how much it reduced the recoil, I took my son (13 y/o) to the range. Had him shoot his 25-06 (No MB) then shoot the 7mm MAG (w/MB)... according to him, the 7mm MAG had just a little bit more recoil. Significant reduction. markgann Report post Posted October 15, 2013 I just had a guy up here in Payson put one on my model 70 7 mm mag and what a difference it made with the recoil. My grouping out to 100 yards got a lot tighter
