drop away rests

Recommended Posts

I shoot the NAP and I love it. I have been shooting a lot more consistent since I purchased the rest. Every bow is different as you know so, find the one that best fits your bow and arrow set up.

I put a Trophy Taker Shakey Hunter on my PSE Thunderbolt. It worked well but I had to turn the cock vane up to get clearance and even then, I still get just BARELY clear it. If the nock moves just a hair, I start getting contact with the rest.

The rest is too wide to allow it to fall all the way down. Where it hits is on the side of riser. I've thought about going to the original Trophy Taker, but with a new Mathews, it might not be a problem.

I have been shooting a cavalier laucher style rest that I converted into a drop away, I just wish I could blame my poor shooting on my cheap rest.

Mathews makes a drop away rest for their bows. It has those harmonic dampers on it and seems to shoot pretty good. It mounts differently than others so it is like a mini overdraw. I like it because you can shoot shorter, heavier arrows.

Switchback has one on his Switchback.
