Will forest service shut down roads due to mud?

Recommended Posts

My buddy was talking to a "BLM guy" who advised him that forest service was talking about shutting down all roads in 5bn due to mud. Has anyone ever heard of this happening? I personally don't think it will happen, but he seems pretty worried about it. Last year it was beyond muddy up there, and they didn't shut down the roads. I'm just curious to see if anyone has experienced this in the past?

I hope not because my family has 3 early archery bull tags and one rifle tag. I've seen it terrible up there as far as road conditions but I've never heard of them closing all the roads in the unit.

Same as 4Falls , have seen the F.S. shut down the Escudilla area in the spring due to the roads being too muddy , but never in the fall . There is always the possibility though and I suppose if the roads are that muddy , then they would certainly do so ......

If they did it would probably help your hunt in some ways. Nothing like an opening morning 4x4 convoy to shut down the bugling for a 3-4 straight days.

wonder how the roads are in 5bn leaving Wed early morning

Horrible for a day or so then once the sun pops out it dries fast,5bn has been getting pounded the last week or so.

went down a three mile strech of road today, river flowing down it, i am ready for some sun.

The 10 forecast says it will be sunny with only 10% chance of rain and 5mph winds for the opening weekend. I'll also be heading up on Wednesday, good luck!
