AZP&Y Report post Posted August 30, 2013 Thanks. Had a little luck on here lately selling as well. A rating system would be nice for the classifieds. Something as simple as positive-neutral-negative. Gives buyers and sellers more "confidence" to do business over the Internet. Especially when you are doing transactions with firearms. Just a suggestion. CouesWhitetail Report post Posted August 30, 2013 You are welcome!! Glad you find it useful! And Doug we used to have a positive-negative-neutral rating system for each member and we had to discontinue it because people were abusing it. It seemed people were using it to hate rather than help. There may be some other kind of system we could use, but I am not sure what it would be. I think IPB has a separate classified add-on we could use, but it kind of breaks up the forum.
AZP&Y Report post Posted August 30, 2013 Yes Amanda it was abused. For example bob puts a post about how he "hates" wolves. Everyone would bash the wolves for example. Haven't we seen this a 100 times on here ? Lol My suggestion is strictly feedback for classifieds only. Go on archerytalk.com . There's is very simple. When a buyer, seller or trade transaction is completed the seller has the power to close the thread. Then the seller and buyer can post feedback as I stated above. In fact you inbed the dead thread into the feedback post ( so people can view the old post) . It is limited to 80 characters. I know that all of these types of enhancements cost money. It is merely a suggestion. A way to help move the classifieds into a more user friendly environment. Most of what is sold on that site is archery gear , clothing, hunting related etc. With a quick search of a prospective seller you get an idea of what was sold and how the transaction went. On CWT I've seen a much broader spectrum of goods. Thanks for your time. Doug
Greenback Report post Posted August 31, 2013 How about when a post is listed more than 1 month and the seller keeps going the "ttt" route for some stinking worn out helmet that they wouldn't want their daughters date to wear??? Just saying... There are some turds that can't be polished... If it doesn't sell in a month, boys and girls, she probably ain't gonna produce...
hoghntr Report post Posted August 31, 2013 How about when a post is listed more than 1 month and the seller keeps going the "ttt" route for some stinking worn out helmet that they wouldn't want their daughters date to wear??? Just saying... There are some turds that can't be polished... If it doesn't sell in a month, boys and girls, she probably ain't gonna produce... Or not allow a memeber to have more than 1 username/account so they can say things they wouldn't normally say.??? Anyways this post was a simple thx and like alwayspeople go sideways with it. send pm's with suggestions to her instead of starting debates.. btw since im the only guy with helmets for sale i will go ahead and take your comment as some sort of insult directed at me i guess.?? not sure everyone on coues whitetail sits infront of computer looking at classifieds all day so i think possibly what is why people repost their stuff. you know you dont have to click on each item!
My Rights As An American Report post Posted August 31, 2013 Bummer how a guy cannot even show his appreciation to Amanda for a great site without someone dumping on the appreciation. Seems like the people who have been here a while and contribute the most are the most appreciative while just the opposite seems true. Sad, very sad. Tells us far too much about the information age and the loss of social skills being instilled within our society. Thanks hoghntr for reminding us that we all need to stop and thank Amanda again for bringing together a group of people with far ranging backgrounds to discuss commonalities and differences amongst us and our hunting styles. THANKS AMANDA!!!!!!
