creed_az_88 Report post Posted August 24, 2013 Has anybody had a chance to do a side by side comparison of the two in12x50. I've looked through the meopta and they are absolutely awesome for their price. I'd like to know how the razors stack up against the meopta. I know that they're lighter and they carry the vortex warranty but how do they compare optically?
joeinaz0 Report post Posted August 25, 2013 Sure Hope Someone Answers This Post. I've Looked At The Meopta And Was Very Impressed Myself. I've Seen Them On Ebay For Around $700 In 10X42.
Hornhunter247 Report post Posted August 25, 2013 My best advice to you would be go with the meopta's. the vortex's quality will fade over the years, where the meopta's quality will remain the same for years and years! I know every pair of mid range optics that I've personally owned seemed like some great glass when purchased, but after a year or two they just seemed so dull and I was shopping for a new pair. The meopta's are the exception here, great glass for the money!
rcdinaz Report post Posted August 25, 2013 I think you are not seeing much response because there were already a few threads on this. The Meopta are really good for the price the only downside is they are on the heavy side for their size. I have not used the Vortex in the field but the reviews are good. If you want to see reviews on the Meopta check the bird watching sites a lot mor of that crowd using them.
creed_az_88 Report post Posted August 25, 2013 Thanks guys. I've researched the meoptas a lot and have become very fond of them . They seem to be the best Bino in their class. The vortex are so much lighter that I was hoping that maybe they could compete. I haven't been real impressed by all the other vortex binos I've looked through but I thought the razor HD'S might be different.
PRDATR Report post Posted August 26, 2013 I wouldn't be overly concerned about the weight since you will probably have them on a tripod 95% of the time when you are looking through them.
creed_az_88 Report post Posted August 26, 2013 The meoptas are so heavy that I wouldn't carry them around my neck. The vortex are light enough that I would. I archery hunt so binos around my neck is a necessity. So with the meoptas they will be in my backpack with my 10x42s around my neck instead of only one pair altogether.
