PRDATR Report post Posted August 24, 2013 I have Humana at work, very small company with about a dozen employees. I got an email last evening saying we will still have Humana available but from the wording in the email it sounded like there will be a price increase (they will meet with each of us individually)and also said we will have this option to shop for our own insurance. https://www.healthcare.gov/marketplace/individual/?gclid=CPSrgsTKlrkCFU5xQgodlDoAvQ

DesertBull Report post Posted August 24, 2013 Hobby Lobby is facing fines of $1B per month if they don't provide abortion insurance to their employees. They are considering shutting down if the court does not rule in their favor. At least someone in this country still values something more than the almighty dollar.
parrita58 Report post Posted September 6, 2013 I work for a casino in the Tucson area and I pay $30 per paycheck for health care for my self, I asked about what would happen with obamacare and their response was in clear. My health care goes in to effect the 1st of October so I'll see what happens then. Hopefully I don't have to pay more.
Hunterjohnny Report post Posted September 6, 2013 Ours quadrupled on our monthly payment with a huge deductable to be met first. It is so frustrating. Not a high paying company but always had good benefits. I really feel for those just starting their families, tough roads ahead.
DesertBull Report post Posted September 6, 2013 The frustrating part is if you are healthy and rarely need medical attention you have to pay more so that beer guzzling, Doritos munching, meth heads can have a better policy.
DesertBull Report post Posted September 6, 2013 If they really wanted to improve the system they should do what some other countries do. Eliminate insurance all together. You deal directly with your local hospital and make a monthly payment to them. Cut out the insurance company mark up.
azshtr Report post Posted September 6, 2013 I'm self employed so pay my own insurance. My Blue Cross policy just went from 520 a month to 630. The reason given in the letter was "healthcare reform". It also stated my plan was being cut and I need to pick a new plan from 4 they will offer by the end of the year. I haven't seen the price of those yet.
