My Rights As An American Report post Posted August 14, 2013 It seems like these are very nice glass and sold for quite a premium when they were an active model line, but have been discountinued. I have an opportunity to buy a non-HD pair of these Vortex Razor in 12x50 for $500. Does this sound like a great deal? Would you buy them for that price? Thanks!!! I appreciate any feedback on this issue!
Norteno Report post Posted August 14, 2013 You could get a used non-HD pair of 15x50 Vipers for that price. Seems like a lot of people are unloading them. Not sure what you are in the market for but the Razor seem to be better glass. Looks like the HD's are going for about $1300 new!
My Rights As An American Report post Posted August 14, 2013 Wish I could afford some nice new HD models, but that is not realistic. I have the 15x50 Vipers and I got a good deal for them from someone a few years back. Do not regret that now. Always thought the Razors were the next step up in quality in the Vortex model line, but I could be wrong.
hunthard Report post Posted August 14, 2013 The only I difference I see in the non hd razor and the viper's is the razor has an extra coating called armor tek- ArmorTek Ultra-hard, scratch-resistant coating protects exterior lenses from scratches, oil and dirt. but IMO 12x50 would be better than 15x50 because of the amount of light it lets in.
ajohunter Report post Posted August 15, 2013 I have been researching the razor 12x50s and they are great glass. I have always been a Swarovski user and fan but I'm planning on buying a pair of these for the upcoming hunts.
