CouesWhitetail Report post Posted October 10, 2006 Congratulations Joe!! Great hunt story and photos. It certainly is amazing that you were able to hunt, video, call and kill all by yourself! Nice bull! Amanda

Deadeye Productions Report post Posted October 11, 2006 Thanks for the compliments everyone it was definatly alot of work. I don't know how many times I wanted to just leave the camera at the truck and even though I got busted a couple of times because of the camera it all payed off in the end. I would have to say calling by myself was just as hard if not harder. I'm not the best caller to begin with and it was a very tough task to bring an bull in close enough to see let alone shoot. I'm in the progress of finishing the skull mount and when I get done I'll post a pic of it. I'm also thinking about posting some video of the hunt if I have some time to kill. Thanks agian everyone. Deadeye Productions Report post Posted October 11, 2006 Here's a few more pics. I'm just about done with my skull just have some touch up to do but it's basicly done here it is. Like I and many others have said there were alot of broken bulls this year at least in my unit. Here's some pics of broken antlers peices I found. I was keeping them just in case I shot a broken bull maybe I'd be able to piece him back together. The top one has some great potential Here a couple of more pics just for kicks

Deadeye Productions Report post Posted October 12, 2006 Got pics of that spiker too...I bet that made some mighty fine jerky Nice job. I sure do! here you go JVS. This bull would make mighty fine anything jerky, roast, hamburger u name it. The only thing it wouldn't be good for is a mount this was definatly the smallest bull I saw on my hunt. Heck I think he's the smallest bull I've ever seen on any hunt.

Deadeye Productions Report post Posted October 12, 2006 Good job Joe, are we gonna see any of the footage in the upcoming video your doing ? Yea the hunt should be in the next video. I haven't done any editing on it yet and its not the best footage but I think I can make it work. I still need to film some more hunts to get the video done. I had a heartbraking archery coues miss caught on tape in september. the hunters only 40 yards from the deer in this pic here's the deer he shoots at That would have been a great killing sequence to have. I realy want an archery coues killing sequence on the next video to help it stand out. Theres still the dec and jan archery hunts maybe I'll get lucky and get one on tape then but until then I'll have to rely on the rifle hunts to finish up the video. Hopefully things will work out and I can get enough footage to get the next video out in summer.
COOSEFAN Report post Posted October 14, 2006 filming a spot-n-stalk Coues hunt has got to be one of the hardest to get on tape! I have seen several from ground blinds or treestands, but to get a stalk/kill hunt would be awesome! Heck, it'll be worth tha money just to see the stalk and miss on that buck, can't wait, I know you guys got some incredible Coues footage, and if anybody's gonna get a stalk/kill hunt on video....It'll be you guys! I look forward to your next video! Best of luck, JIM>

I look forward to your next video! Best of luck, JIM> Thanks Jim I hope your right. It is the hardest hunt to video by far. I've pretty much given up on trying to get the kill by filming over the shoulder. Way way too hard. We're now just trying to get one down while I video from a distance. So far the footage is pretty good this way now we just need to work on not missing anymore deer. I think I now have atleast three archery coues misses on video. If we can get atleast one kill this winter I can put it all together and make a realy good archery coues sequence for the next video. I can't wait to see how things turn out. I'll keep everyone here at cwt.com posted when anything new happens. Good luck on the upcoming hunts. O by the way how did your brothers elk hunt turn out? COOSEFAN Report post Posted October 15, 2006 Hi Joe, My brother, Matt, stuck to his guns and held out for two individual bulls, and ultimately ate "tag-soup". We saw his #1 bull on the 1st evening of the hunt so we knew he was still alive, and we had put in alot of time trying to kill that 375+ bull that I video taped, so for him it was either of those two bulls or nothing! I give him credit, 'cause I don't have that kind of will power! He passed on alot of good bulls, the biggest was the one that my buddy killed, but there was a bigger bull coming up behind my buddy's bull when Matt passed, so I don't think he would have passed if that bull was by himself! We never did find his #1 bull again but it was awesome to see he had at least made it through last year! Thanks, JIM>
