Hornhunter247 Report post Posted August 13, 2013 Ok so with all this beautiful rain that we have received lately here in S.E. NM, all the goats I've been scouting for my archery hint are scattered! And none are hitting the regular waters (( so my blind hint option seems to be toast! Has anyone used this goofy set up? I don't know if I could wear it without laughing myself out of the country, but it looks like it could work! Any info would be great! Thanks, Brian

25-06 Report post Posted August 13, 2013 I don't think I would wear a costume that looks like the critter I am trying to kill. Seems like a feller could get shot that way.

idgaf Report post Posted August 13, 2013 I would save your money. I watched several be the decoys, a couple of montana decoys, and a couple of guys in white paint suits tried to stalk antelope during my brothers antelope hunt last year. The antelope did not let them get them within three hundred yards.

429mike Report post Posted August 13, 2013 Me and my friend used the be the decoy suit last year! Had mixed reactions from the antelope! But 5 min into hunt with it on and had a buck come in from a few hundred yards out! To bad I got all excited not believing it was working and missed the shot! rcdinaz Report post Posted August 13, 2013 I say go for it! If nothing else you gain experience with a new tactic. I am sure it won't work 100% of the time and there is probably a bit of an art to having a goat think your one of them and not a clown version of them. I would start the experiment while scouting so you learn a little before your hunt. Oh and looking ridiculous, who cares when your posing for pics with your trophy. This worked 100's -1,000's of years ago for all of the tribes across the world who were chasin game with rocks, sticks, and other pointy objects. I think their pictures wearing a buffalo or stag head look bad a$$. Remember when you were the first guy who showed up in full camo and the older members of your party teased you about the cute tree outfit years ago.... Well they all have it in their gear bag now.
