Looking for a decent Recurve

I'm a compound shooter, but my brother is looking to buy a new recurve in the $300 range. He has never shot a bow and wants to get in on the action. I have never shot a traditional set up and have no information to offer him. Any suggestions?

My brother just bought a sage #50 for $150 from sportsman and loves it. He is just starting out and is getting pretty good with it.

For the price, sage is hard to beat

I'd spend a little more and go with a Bear for $450... But both Martin and Sage are very functional bows. I'm saving up for a Bear Kodiak magnum... I already have a 40# Bear Cub that I've been trying to get a dove with, flu flus haven't connected yet!
