Too early for a role call??

Recommended Posts

Got my bow tuned, arrows tip'd, clothes are scent free, game bags are tucked in, knife is sharp, pack is organized and cinched, tag is signed, license in the wallet, truck is dirty, wife is feelin' lonely because my heart is pumping for another.....

Is it too early for a role call for the AZ bow hunters? It's as though the older I get the less mature I am about handling the anticipation for bow season. Opening day can't come soon enough!!!

I'll be out there for sure. Prowling parts of 11M and 6A, maybe 7. My cameras haven't produced anything great so I'll be walking and glassing. Can't wait.

I'll be glassing up high in 35A and looking at the archery-only areas on Fort Wegotcha after work. Gonna have to be a monster though- I have a December rifle tag

New bow, new arrows, new Swhackers, new cams. I just can't decide if I will hunt my old stomping grounds or take ShedhunterAz's offer to hunt up in 23. Decisions, decisions, decisions dang it's hard!

Ready2hunt, here is what I've found over the years and my wife will agree. Maturity is less likely to ever improve this time of year. It's like an old buck that puts the blinders on and his senses just goes plain stupid once a year. It's bred in all archery hunters I personally know. I tell my wife it's quite normal.

Good luck to everyone and keep the broad heads sharp. You just might get a chance to test your nerves on a big old buck. :)

Havnt had a full day off work since some time in May. Bow is in the shop. Have no cams out. Havnt stepped foot in the hills in what seems like forever.

That being said, come August 23 rd hopefully ill have my bow sighted in and ill be glassing or sit ting a tank with high hopes. Can't wait.

Good luck to all in AZ. Save a little one till January for a Florida guy who's bit bad by the Coues bug. I'm fired up for our season, and we still have a little over a month here before I can go after a swamp deer.
