Too early for a role call??

Recommended Posts

New bow, new arrows, new Swhackers, new cams. I just can't decide if I will hunt my old stomping grounds or take ShedhunterAz's offer to hunt up in 23. Decisions, decisions, decisions dang it's hard!

Let me know if you hit the old stomping grounds and need an extra set of eyes. I'll be somewhere down south. :D

After I check my cams on Wednesday I will be making up my mind and will let you know. Will you still be needing my tree stand if I go north?

My wife saw me sittin on the couch tonight and said "I'm surprised your not looking at a map or messing with your bow."

She was right, after a long day at work I had lost focus already. Complacency is for the weak so I unpacked and repacked my gear. Who knew that all the times she told me "you're obsessed with hunting" or I have "mixed up priorities"...she was really saying I love you.

Who said marriage is boring? Hahah. 9 more days!!!!

I don't bow hunt but when I found out me and the wife got a tag I started getting knifes sharp and stuff ready. She tells me to get my priorities together. But she is the crazy one the week of the hunt. We all feel your pain.

Packed my pack on Monday night and have been going crazy since then. I cant find my freakin tag anywhere. I think I might have shredded it with all my older tags I had laying around from the unsuccessful trips.

My living room looks like Cabelas and Ross Outdoors had an Orgy. It's spilled over from my office (hunting storage room). My wife has a constant look of contempt on her face.

I'm excited for deer, but I've also got my first archery elk tag... And I'm a wreck. I have a trail worn in my yard from 80 yards back to the target that rivals the trails my 3 dogs have on the fence line.

I had a nightmare the other night that my whisker biscuit had turned into this molten lava hole that disintegrated arrows as they passed through. It was horrible. I couldn't sleep for like 3 nights after that. Then I had a nightmare that after I released an arrow at this giant bull, his horns fell off while my arrow was in flight. I think I need to see a psychiatrist.

I've had epic broadhead tuning fights. I've had panic attacks about every single thing on my bow.

I also Love every second of it and can not wait to be in the woods.

After about a million practice shots I can shoot my recurve out to about 27 yards or so. With my real bow on loan to my self centered Brother this year will be really interesting. One more thing my new overloads decided on having are grand opening on opening day. Fortunely I know a couple of places within the 15 minutes of my office. I excited for the challenge of instinctive bowhunting. I'll be hunting (scouting) 1 and 3b for the most part and wherever else I may end up. Good Luck, I cant wait.

Got my bow tuned up, got her hitting easy at 50 yards and fine tuning 60. The hunting room is a mess after finding and locating everything I'll need to track down that ole boy. Going be hitting up 35A the first few days of the season, then try out my luck up high in 30A where no one else goes besides illegals, and BP. Besides I couldnt ask for a better birthday present then arrowing a buck on my bday opening weekend.
