Big Browns Report post Posted August 5, 2013 I'm about ready to start shooting my Savage 10 fcp 338 lapua. I would really like to find some H1000, but since it's almost impossible to find I had to find another powder to use. I bought some Ramshot Magnum. Just wondering if any of you have used this powder in a 338 Lapua. I'm planning on trying SMK 300 & Berger 300 grain bullets. If you have any advise please let me know. Blade Report post Posted August 9, 2013 I have had a savage 110 ba in 338 lapua for about a year now. Due to componant availablility, forest closures, and weather i havent been able to do much load developement yet. I have never used Ramshot so i cant offer much advice on that. Im using retumbo and 300gr. berger otm tactical. There seems to be a lot of people using retumbo and H1000. Ive also heard that RL33 works well for 338 lapua. i have a couple friends that also have 338's and we set up a pretty nice long range range (2000yd +). I havent been shooting long range (1000yds +) for very long and dont claim to be good at it. When you start shooting that far trig and physics become extremely important; which is why i enjoy it. CWpredator Report post Posted August 9, 2013 I haven't tried any of the ram shot for my 338 lapua but I used it in some 223 and 22-250 stuff(not the magnum powder of corse) and had good results. For the lapua I tried retumbo and had avrage 1moa groups. H1000 has been awesome producing .489 5 shot groups with SMK300s and .505 5 shot groups with the 300bergers. Check on the snipers hide form for h1000 if that's what your looking for usually someone has got a little for sale or people post where they find it avaliable online on some oddball sites. I have enought Ramshot powder to shoot a bunch, but I would love to get some H1000 to try out. Hopefully it becomes available in the next couple of month's.
