Rage Shock Collars

Recommended Posts

Was wondering if anyone has tried the shock collars on rage broad heads? As I understand it they are supposed to keep the blades from opening up when removing an arrow from the quiver. The rage have always flow great for me, however I have been hesitant to hunt with them for this very reason.

Thanks in advance for any input.

Looks to me like the new Rage Extreme and Rage Hypodermic have collars on them. I'm not sure if they call them a shock collar or not, appears to me to be a retaining collar. As for blades opening in quivers you should never force the blades on any mechanical into a quiver. Make room for them but otherwise yes, Rage would pop open with very little pressure and often open in flight. Stalking with them was a pain as it didn't take much to have them pop open on you. It looks to me like they have finally addressed that issue. time in the field will tell.

I tried the little plastic collar I believe you are talking about. Didnt help at all with it not deploying when i put it in my quiver. Yet to release and arrow with the collar attached.

Shoot the crossbow heads, they are awesome. The groove is deeper so they retain the blades way better when stalking or putting in a quiver.

Just ordered some new Hypodermics to try this season. In my research, the collars are designed for the Extreme and Hypodermic heads. Only issue I have with them is they are designed to break when used so they are a one time use requiring replacement collars. I think you can get a pack of four collars for $4-5.

I'll see how they due (practice heads) for flight. Ultimately, I often find myself going back to WASP JakHammers and have never had an issue with them. Chisel tips hold up to multiple shots and replacing blades are quick, painless, and not tools required.

Good luck.

don't use the collars. I shoot the rage 2 blades and what you do it put them on without the collars and tie one strand of dental floss around the blades. they will not open on a bush or in a quiver. just cut the remainder off at the knot. ive shot many deer and pigs with this methos and they fly great and open on impact everytime

I'll stick with the Killzones and not have to go to all the trouble of collars and tying dental floss or a strand of copper wire around the blades to hold them shut.
