Fletching choices

Recommended Posts

Thinking about switching fletching and was looking for some input... blazers? AAE? NAP? Bohning?

Also i've been noticing some guys at the range shooting 4 fletched arrows and even know a guy who 6 fletches. Do any of you shoot arrows with more that 3 vanes/feathers?

Thanks.

I was thinking of trying the fletch-wraps. The ones you dip in boiling water to shrink wrap to the arrow. Any performance issues with these?

I use the quikfletch blazer vanes, theyre easy to put on (use tape to hold in place) and don't change my POI.

I have used those in the past and they didn't last very long, not to mention they cost quite a bit. I shoot 2 inch blazers and they fly great.

I shoot the 2 inch Fusion vanes. Tough and accurate. I just wanted to try something different. Been using them for a couple years now.

I use Nap shrink wrap 2 inch vanes. I have some going on 2 years. no wavy vanes and easy to line up with your broad heads if you screw on the head before installing. not sure how they hold up to a biscuit though. I use a drop away. the Nap spin faster and are said to be a bit more accurate at longer yardage.

I use 2" Raptor vanes... Just like Blazers. Tried the NAP shrink wrap Bone Collector Quickspins and found that I did not like them very much- I never got good consistent flight out of them for some reason. People say they work great but I never got them to work as good as regular old 1 degree RH Raptor vanes.

I've shot about every fletch out there, I've shot 3 vanes, 4, 6 etc... I keep coming back to flex fletch for one reason. They have memory, after missing a good buck because my blazer vane got creased, I wanted ones with memory or really short profile, when it was crease it really made my broadheads fly erratic.

Go with the Fusion....The Blazers make a lot of noise in the air kind of a whistling sound. The Fusion are more quiet, so less animals jump the string. A good glue to use, believe it or not, is Lock Tight...

I see there are two different sizes of vanes. 4" or 2". What gives. I'am shooting a Browning Compount 60lbs. The bow is older model. I will be hunting elk. I would like to get the Carbon INJEXION Arrows 400's. Or if someone know something better. My razor heads 100gr. Muzzy. My set up is older. Will up grade next year. Thanks
