What a nice rain can do

Recommended Posts

Put a camera out Saturday morning and was a little worried that the tank could dry up anytime. Put a chunk of salt a few feet from the mud. (Note the day is one day off on the cam, time is right)

I was thinking I might have to move the salt since we had a good rain that afternoon, so went to check it this morning.

What a difference! Need to go check a few more "dry" waterholes and see what they look like.

That is an awesome example of a good rain! Looks like you might have to move the cam back a bit now! Thanks for sharing.

The salt was completely for agricultural purposes and the cattle in the area right? :) kidding.. that's crazy how much water came down in just a couple of days! That should last the rest of the summer I would think.

We had 1.4" Saturday afternoon at my place, I was watching the radar and hoping this waterhole was catching some of it. It did.

Salt was put there specifically for the elk! ; )
