How big is this one?

Recommended Posts

I'm not a great judge of speed goats, but given the ears stick up about 6" along the horns I'd say he's about 15" In length, about 50" of mass. I'm going with 80" + or - 2". Good enough for me next month, I know that much!!

With the length of those cutters and all that mass, I say that buck is upper 80's. I could be wrong, goats a re tough to score.

Hornhunter247 - Did you forget the prong measurement in your guess or was that included in the mass? 50-inches of mass is a lot - my kind of buck - I like the way you think. :)

This buck is one of them, but it's for the New Mexico auction tag. We have a bigger buck though, so we may not go after this one.

Here are a few of the Arizona bucks we've found (Seldom - have you seen anything in that upper 80 to 90-inch range this year?)

Eli I just forgot to type +prongs, he looks to have about 22" of mass and 3" prongs = 25" a side. I start my scouting for my aug tag in southern NM tomorrow, so hopefully I'll have a few pics for you guys to help me judge :)

Very nice buck, prongs are longer than 3" probably closer to 5. I think this buck is 85" That wacked out horned buck is my end all be all. He is gorgeous, and would be a great mount on my wall ;)

he's retarded, and thats beautiful. guys the first buck isn't in the 80s he needs to be 2 1/2 times the lenght of his ears then have a good drop. ground scoring speed goats is deseving but Iv'e been wrong before. what does stickflicker thank he knows his shxtt.

Not to change the subject, Eli, if you ever have time or want to, I would love for you to post some pics of bucks that have been ground checked and put their scores with their pictures. I would like to see bucks from 75" on up and see how different horn configurations often add up to similar scores. I think it would be neat to see the difference between say 3 75" bucks,--3 80" and some of those giants your guide service has killed. Antelope and sheep IMO are the hardest to score from pictures.
