Score this buck!!!

Recommended Posts

What do you think this buck gross scores?

I have seen this buck for three years now. We call him "Private Spread". He can fit his own piece of personal real estate between those wide horns! lol!

I have my ideas of what I think he scores but thought you all would enjoy looking at a cool buck and have fun making some guesses. :)

So what do ya think?

if you call his ears 6" then he is barely twice his ears, plus a little curl but not a deep heart curl, and cutters are nice put not huge, mass is good even above the prong, and with no addition points for width, even as cool as he looks, ide say he is short and would be around 78-82

Ok here goes. Take the first picture and look how he is minus the top half of completing a full circle of 360deg. Now minus half of 360 for 180. We're almost there. Since he has 2 horns you must divide once again by 2 for a score of 90 and subtract his 2 kickers, I know that doesn't sound right but that's antelope math. His final score will be real close to 88 give or take an inch. Mass has nothing to do with score once the circle has been broken down. Pretty simple to me.

SCORE = 88

Interesting scoring system you have there, TJ.

It's a very nice buck, but there's no way it's breaking 90. A 90 inch buck needs to be outstanding at everything, length, prongs and mass (especially mass). This buck is nice at everything, but he's not exceptional at anything. His length is pretty good and probably his best feature, but it's not "exceptional". His mass above the prongs is weak. His prongs are average.

For the average hunter, that would be a great buck to take. If you're looking for 90, keep glassing.
