Redman Report post Posted September 28, 2006 Don't have one, thought about getting one....never hunted from one. Be curious on what you settle on. Redman
missedagain Report post Posted September 28, 2006 I have a few, 2 portables and 1 climber. I can't remember what brand my hang-ons are, I got them on close-out some years ago, but I love them because they will hang on almost any tree, they are simple to use with nothing to get in the way, they have overly large platforms, and are not to heavy to carry. My climber is a p.o.s., it has a bar that surrounds you that gets in the way of your bow, it can only be used on straight trees with no limbs in the way (basically aspens), and it is made so flimsy that I'm sure it is going to break on me one of these days(good thing I hardly ever use it) the weight rating on it must be 80lbs or something. I know this doesn't help you with brands, but might give you some extra ideas of features to look for.

Switchback Report post Posted September 28, 2006 What brand and model of tree stand are you using? I'm looking to buy a new one. Home made are always the best! They are cheap and you don't have to worry about anyone stealing them if they find them
bowsniper Report post Posted September 28, 2006 I have had Gorillas fixed stands and they work well. BUT, DO NOT use Gorilla body harnesses. The buckles they use disengage easily and are a saftey hazzard! That's why I fell 25 feet. Mark
mikep35 Report post Posted September 29, 2006 I use an API stand. I've been using it for years and it is easy to climb, quiet, and light. The shoulder straps suck so you'd want to get the padded ones from sportsman's warehouse or cabelas.
