Bitter24 Report post Posted June 17, 2013 Just wondering for my uncle who moved to AZ but does not yet have residency, and would prefer not to buy a non resident CWT rifle tag. How fast do the left over tags sell out (typically) for unit 30A. He will have resdency shortly after they go on sale july 29. So the question is do the sell out quick where he should just bite the bullet and pay extra or do they normally last for a little while? Thanks for any info
azpredator@work Report post Posted June 17, 2013 Age restricted hunts state you must be of a certain hunt prior to the hunt dates. A kid can apply for tags before legal age as long as he turns legal age prior to. I would think the same applies for residency as well, although I have never looked into it. Flatlander Report post Posted June 17, 2013 When dealing with residency you must be a resident at the time you apply for the tag, so his uncle would have to wait until he met the requirements before purchasing a permit. Last year there were over 100 leftover tags in that unit, but I do not know exactly when they sold out. They post an updated list of leftovers regularly during the first come first serve period, so you can just keep an eye on it and if it gets close to selling out just go down and grab a tag.
