Shoe Tree

Recommended Posts

I am sick of the people trashing the land. While at Big Lake on Saturday I was walking and found an ipod and about 20 yds to the lake there were some younger adults fishing. I asked them if the ipod belonged to them and it did. They left later on and my wife tells me they left all their trash laying there. I was pissed I gave them their Ipod back!

on a side note how was the fishing?

Fishing was slow. Fishing from the bank and I didnt even get a nibble and either did anybody else around us. It was crazy windy up there.

yeah, it can be tough when it gets hot cause that lake is soo deep!

remember you can rent a row boat and just bring your own electric motor and battery for like 1/2 the price of the motor boats they rent. they will even charge it over nite for you for like 5 or 7$. if you don't have 1 you can barrow mine.

That tree has been there for years. See it every time coming home from quail hunting.

The hypocrisy called the USFS, lays down the gauntlet when it comes to leaving blinds, trail cams or tree stands, yet they let this eyesore remain along a major freeway without a care in the world. I emailed the Tonto National Forest a couple years ago asking them how they allow this tree to remain? Never got a response.

If this memorial has bothered so many of you, why haven't you stopped and cleaned it up I pick up most holiday weekends after the valley people have left and put many of there fires out so if you didn't like it, why haven't you cleaned it up that would have been a great lesson to your kids,I don't like trash either but I pick it up.10 or 12 trash bags picking it up with your kids or no kids might have made you feel better.

instead of bitching about it.

Shoe tree- just as bad as the arrow tree?

I kinda like the arrow tree. Not sure how long it's been "the arrow tree" but I put one in it about 15 years ago. Last time I was there, there wasn't any trash around it. Not sure now though? Never heard of the shoe tree til today.

I am strongly opposed to un-authorized memorials. People putting up crosses or markers where there loved ones have died. This, in my opinion, is the same. It should all be cleaned up by state or federal officials.

In Tucson we have these old junky ten speeds painted white and put out where bicyclists have died. They are the ugliest things I've ever seen and I'm disgusted they are allowed to be in place. Bury your loved ones and buy a nice head stone. The general public does not care to know where your loved one has passed away IMHO. Imagine if, where anyone/everyone who died had a marker placed there.
