Pine Donkey Report post Posted June 4, 2013 Yesterday evening I had a meeting in Tucson. We needed some paint from wal-mart so I ordered it before the meeting and stopped by to pick it up afterward, about 8:00. This was the Wal-mart at Kino and I-10. As I pulled into the parking lot I was surprised by the amount of vehicles. I went in to get the paint and could not believe what I saw...it looked like black Friday. The shelves were being cleaned off, the isles were stacked full of palleted goods which were being looaded into carts as fast as they were dropped. I grabbed my paint and headed to the register. Most registers were open, but the lines were increadibly long...I was in one of the express lanes with 57 people in front of me! 40 minutes later I made it to the register. The cashier was very friendly but also stressed out from the crowds. I asked her if this was a typical Monday night; her answer floored me: She said it is the first Monday of the month and the government support checks come in. Most of the customers live in Mexico and have a P.O. Box in Tucson to get their checks. (This Wal-mart is close to the main Tucson post office) They come North on the first Monday, spend their check, and go home. In the parking lot I took a close look at license plates, sure enough, about 4 out of every 5 was from Sonora. This is your tax dollars at work. Essentially 40% of this money is borrowed from China and given to Mexico, while we are cutting essential services of our own people. Wake up America!

My Rights As An American Report post Posted June 4, 2013 Pine Donkey, I have heard many similar stories. A few were told to me by the Speaker of the House of Representatives during many late night discussions on budgets. Up north, as also stated by Non-typical solutions, the government checks come in weekly, I believe. There was a short-lived show early last year about police on the Navajo Reservation that showed how bad it got during certain parts of the week and month. Some regulars that showed up when money was available, but disappeared when not. Really quite disturbing. Friends in Flagstaff who work EMT/firefighters have regular days when they know lots more people/trouble will be in town and when the night shift is going to get rough based on government check days. Have found lots of potential fraudulent activity by alleged non-residents in border towns in my line of work. Sad, very sad and upsetting as a taxpayer in this country! In the United States, mail and wire fraud is any fraudulent scheme to intentionally deprive another of property or honest services via mail or wire communication. It has been a federal crime in the United States since 1872. A person that, in order to obtain a financial gain, intentionally falsifies, forges, conceals, defaces, or obliterates a document of gift, an amendment or revocation of a document of gift, or a refusal is guilty of a felony punishable by imprisonment for not more than 5 years or a fine of not more than $50,000.00, or both. bonecollector Report post Posted June 4, 2013 I like when the people using foodstamps throw a big fit when they have to pay a couple of pennies for tax when they use a few coupons on their $300 grocery bill. Happens all the time!

venadito Report post Posted June 5, 2013 Come on guys...So what is it?...Is it that they are getting "hand outs'' or just that they are spending it...Either way I think it's good that at least they are spending it here and not down there...Whatever way you look at it, some of these people are just a product of a broken system...It's not perfect but griping about lines being too long at a store, that it's the illegal immigration, or who is or not receiving welfare...Again the system is broken and needs a major re-vamp... Bi-(t)-ching about a useless cause is getting old if you do not like the system then do something about it get involved in the political process and push for change otherwise write something about hunting this is a hunting forum...I'm probably not the only one that gets fed up at the garbage Snap and others on here BS about...Sorry (I had to say that!)
