jcarter Report post Posted May 31, 2013 We wanted to go camping this weekend. I looked online and it looks like all of the white mountains have fire restrictions. cosninocanines Report post Posted May 31, 2013 The Coconino and Kaibab and all of Coconino County: Under the restrictions, fires, campfires, charcoal, coal and wood stoves are allowed in developed campgrounds only. The restrictions also limit smoking to within enclosed vehicles or buildings or in developed campgrounds. Using a device that is solely fueled by liquid petroleum or LPG fuels that can be turned on and off is allowed in areas that are clear of flammable materials. A/S NO Fires EXCEPTIONS: (1) fires are allowed within a Forest Service provided metal fire ring or grille in a developed campsite or picnic area listed within Exhibit A and (2) LPG-fueled stoves, lanterns, or heating devices which meet the fire underwriter's specifications for safety and can be turned on/off are allowed so long as used in an area that is barren or cleared of all overhead and surrounding flammable materials within 3 feet of the device. 36 CFR § 261.52(a) 2. NO Smoking, except within an enclosed vehicle or building, a developed recreation site/improved site or while stopped in an area at least three feet in diameter that is barren or cleared of all flammable materials. 36 CFR § 261.52(d) 3.
