rude fellow hunter

Recommended Posts

I was out hunting this past weekend on Sat. and Sun. Sat. was great, saw a very nice whitetail buck come into my stand over looking a water hole. Was unable to get a shot, but was very happy to see the deer anyways. Sun. was quite a differnt story though. Lots of people driving around. But the one thing that made my day so bad was at 10:15 in the morning a fellow hunter came into my stand area, pulled right up to the water hole, got out of his blue blazer and walked around the water to a ameristep blind he had set up. I cleared my throat several time with no aknowledgement. I am not mad the guy had a blind on the water hole. But to come in at 10:15to pick it up was just rude. I do beleive he knew I was there but did not care. If he reads this he will know who he is. Do I have a reason to be mad or am I out of line? Thanks!

I'd be torqued too. But you gotta give him credit for coming to get it and not leaving it up all year so he can "claim that tank". Any deer coming in would hear him there, wait until he left, then come on in anyway.

I always like to give people the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps he was ready to go home for the weekend and didn't want to leave his blind behind so he came in and got it?

THATS A TOUGH DEAL WHENEVER YOU ARE HUNTING ON PUBLIC OR STATE LAND, EVREYBODY HAS THE RIGHT TO USE THAT TANK. GIVING THE GUY THE BENIFIT OF THE DOUBT IT WAS 10:15 AND I WOULD SAY THAT MOST HUNTERS WOULD BE OFF THEIR STAND BY THAT TIME. THE FACT THAT YOU WERE STILL SHOWS YOUR DEDICATION, BUT HE PROBABLY WASN'T EXPECTING YOU TO BE THERE. YEAH, MABEY HE COULD HAVE LEFT AND GOT HIS STAND ANOTHER TIME BUT THERE IS NO WAY TO KNOW HIS STORY, HE MAY HAVE DROVE SEVERAL HOURS TO GET IT. I WOULDN'T GET TO UPSET THAT STUFF HAS HAPPENES TO ALL OF US, SOMEDAY THE TABLES MAY BE TURNNED, YOU NEVER KNOW! I DON'T OWN A TREE STAND OR A BLAZER SO IT WASN'T ME! ;)

I certainly can see all of your points. I usaully sit from 8:30 till 3:00. The problem was I was lucky enough to see a very nice buck the day before at 10:45. Not to say he would have come in at the same time the next day. I am the type to say I would get my stand or blind out early not to disturb anyone that might want to use that water hole. But your are right, I should giue him the benefit of the doubt.
