Digiscoping Camera

Recommended Posts

For those of you that digiscope on a regular basis.....I saw a video on neverenoughbiggame.com and it got me thinking. What cameras allow attachments but is something that you wouldn't mind having in your hunting pack?

I have a Sony P41 and saw 3 bears 2 weeks ago while scouting for deer and took about 25 shots and not one of them turned out.....they were all fuzy. I think I was snapping them without allowing the camera to focus......regardless, what is a good camera that would allow you to use the Swarovski DCA (digital camera adapter)?

Thanks

I use that adapter on an ATS65 and use a Nikon Coolpix 990 that I bought used off of e-bay. This setup works really well for me. For alot of the cameras listed you have to buy another seperate adapter before you can use the swarovski DCA, because many of those cameras don't have filter threads which is what the DCA attaches to.

A few sample pictures. Taken between 150 and 450 yards.

This deer was over 1/2 a mile away, as you can see the quality drops a bit at the longer distances.

Any scope can be adapted to any digital camera. The scope companies make different adapters as do the camera companies. It is just a matter of getting the correct and matching gear.

I use a Canon Powershot. It was discontinued but replaced with the A540 if I am not mistaken. You need to buy a Canon adapter ($16 about) to convert it to 52mm for use with the Swarovski DCA. It works great.
