With all the crap going around ( bad decisions by G&F employees, have to win the lotto to afford to draw a tag IF you are drawn at all) I decided to get going on preparation for August.

I ran down to the mail box, and ran back. As soon as I walked in the door, I did 20 push-ups and 20 sit-ups, then went right out the back door and let some arrows fly. Gotta get ready sooner or later...

This is only from 20 yards; but you have to start somewhere....

Nice job guys!! There's nothing like being in shape for the hunting season. I lift and run year round, but I stared doing more crossfit workouts about two weeks ago, I think it's going to take me to the next level. I'm in straight elk mode, shooting in the mornings and working out after work. I feel ready to go right now. Come on September!!! Please elk gods make it a September to remember!

Cant wait till September as well. Going out in a couple weeks to the unit and just have a look around the unit, and do

alittle shed hunting exercise and get away from work.

Been doing the same thing. Lots of running and hiking in the mountains to get used to altitude. Shooting the bow almost every day cuz I'll be chasing deer come august and bulls come september!

I like your backstop, makes you focus alittle harder when you KNOW a miss will shatter your arrows...

And it is a good thing to practice with your heart-rate up alittle...

that's exactly how he shot his scorpion deer last year... LOL!
