newbee Report post Posted September 18, 2006 couldnt find the thread I started, but I finaly picked up my kiabab water hole map!and thought Id give you the run down on it It has every water source in 12A period. quality is good and it is easy to use, however it is in 1/100,000 scale and should be augmented with a military style protractor and GPS. e.g during your scouting/outing/hunting- estimate and plot w/ protractor, plug it in to your gps as a waypoint- go track to it and find the hole. once you locate actual tank refine your data and record as way point. reason is the [map] markings are aprox 3-400 meters/yards wide[in reference to scale] . so plot center and step it out. map is color coded and shows all roads and trail heads.
