josh Report post Posted September 16, 2006 Josh, way to go! I met you at the antelope seminar. You were in unit 7. Give us the story. How far a shot, how many bucks did you see? etc. Hey DUG I actually got a shot at about 60 yards after the best stalk I have ever made. He was with 6 does and fell with one shot. I saw seven bucks on friday and saturday. I shot this one at about 7:30 a.m. on sat. morning. The rain on friday afternoon and saturday was terrible it really made the lopes bed down and dissappear. How did you make out?
DUG Report post Posted September 16, 2006 Josh, I couldn't find my 2 main ones. I found one of those Thursday, but he was so spooky. We found a stocky horned 12 incher Friday afternoon and shot him at 40 yards. He was in the pines with 3 does. Congrats again on your first!

COUESAZ Report post Posted September 17, 2006 Very nice lope congrats to you on a great hunt.Lopes are not good to get hooked on as they are so hard to draw out on. I would have to wonder how that lope was killed with his face in such good shape. something has cleaned him down good but for the face to be that good of shape sure is strange. I am sure we passed by each other a couple of times over the weekend. Bob

josh Report post Posted September 22, 2006 Josh, nice goat and pic. A fun hunt for sure. Were the legs near the carcass? Doug~RR HeyRR the back legs were attached and cleaned up but the front leg bones were not around. I really couldnt find any evidence of what killed him even after a little CSI work. He was near a waterhole so maybe he was sick. I notice alot of cattle carcasses near waterholes and assume they go near water to die. The meat on the backbone had been eaten that night because it was still pink and the hide was totally gone except for the head
